Monash IVF is one of the few centres in Australia which specialises in offering Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis (PGD) and Preimplantation Genetic Screening (PGS) as treatment options for couples at increased risk of passing a chromosome abnormality or specific genetic disease on to their children.
These treatments involve screening IVF generated embryos for genetic conditions prior to embryo transfer; and enable the genetic status of an embryo to be accurately determined before a pregnancy is established.
